What baggage you ask, the difficulties from childhood, the feelings of abandonment, being deprive, abuse verbally and physically, low self esteem the feelings of being an outsider never fitting into the gang, being alone.
Imagine
you are most of the time forgetting about your needs and your feelings and you
are upset when others are doing the same to you.
Pleasing others for the sake of getting them to like you or hoping that they will want to be your friend because you have them being dependent on you is not the right way to have a successful communication that is more manipulation.

Loving you and choosing to be kind to yourself is part of the foundation for a successful communication with others, you cannot ask another to love you, when you are constantly forgetting about your needs and feeling.
