One is God’s system of operation, and the other is Satan’s system of operation.
Fear is really contaminated faith. It’s the exact system that the enemy of your soul (Satan, or the devil) will use to try to get you to doubt what God says you can have. If you have experienced sickness, the devil will suggest to you that you will stay sick. If you have a history of illness in your family, he will try to get you to believe that it will come upon you too.
Remember, the devil is a liar. He is the Father of Lies. So if you say you don’t believe there’s a devil, then you must question if you believe in God. I say this because God is the one who told us there’s a devil! I’ll prove it to you right now. God’s Word tells us…
1 Peter 5:8 “Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.” (Amp)
The devil is real. However, he has absolutely ZERO authority over you. He looks for someone to devour. Let him find someone else!
Faith, on the other hand, is God’s system. I always think of the story in the Bible of the fig tree. In Matthew 21:18-21, Jesus was hungry, and He and His disciples were walking and came to a fig tree. When Jesus came close to it, He saw that there were no figs on it, and He cursed the tree and said, “Never again shall fruit grow on you.” Immediately, the tree dried up and died. The followers who were there with Him were amazed and asked Jesus, “How did the fig tree dry up so quickly?” And Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will be able to do what I did to this tree and even more. You
will be able to say to this mountain, “Go, fall into the sea.” If you have faith, it will happen. If you believe, you will receive anything you ask for in prayer.”
Do you see this? Jesus has given you and me ALL authority by giving us His name. Your mountain can be your problem or challenge. You should speak “to” your problem and not “about” your problem. Speaking about it to others will only make it larger, while speaking to it will get rid of it!
I want to mention a word about prayer here. In Matthew 6:6-9, Jesus teaches us to pray to the Father, not to Him (Jesus). We are to come to the Father in the name of Jesus, and whatever we ask the Father in Jesus’ name, will be done for us. This is, as¬suming, of course, you are praying in line with God’s will, which is His Word to us.
Matthew 21:22 “And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive.” (Amp)
Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” (KJV)
God requires us to seek Him, trust Him and have faith in Him and His Word. When we act in obedience to His Word, we believe His Word, trust Him and stand on His promises to us. We are to declare that no matter what it looks like or what it feels like, when we act on His Word, HE will take care of the rest. Faith and obedience are absolute keys. They go hand in hand together.
Additionally, Jesus said…
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:” (KJV)
Notice the words ask, seek and knock all begin with the let¬ters (ASK).
The Lord wants us to come to Him and ask and believe, not doubting. He says when we pray, believe we have received the very thing we have prayed for, and we will have it.
