The Magic of Friendship
Are you familiar with the saying “no man is an island”? Well, almost everyone can relate to that saying because everyone has his or her own set of friends. No matter what culture, status in life, age group or gender that someone belongs to, friends are always present to grace one’s life.
Ever since we were kids, we already found ourselves basking in the magical and comforting presence of our friends. Even as we grew older, friends still make up a big part of our life, aside from our family and loved ones. Some people even treat their friends as part of their family. That’s how powerful true friendship can be.
Friends who seem to be like family to us may prove to be a real treasure when we are miles away from our original family. Whenever we are sad or lonely, friends are always present and ready to cheer you up. Loyal friends will stick with you through thick and thin, and will help you get out of trouble whenever you need them.
Friends Provide Inner Warmth and Contentment
Even if you have all the material luxuries in life, you cannot really say that you are happy if you don’t have true and loyal friends. Studies have shown that friends affect people in a positive manner. So, if you think that you are already 100% happy with your life, with or without the presence of friends, think again!
In one time or another, you will surely come to a point in your life when you will surely need or seek the presence of friends, that’s why it is highly suggested that you make them feel that they are important to you as you are to them.
Be a Good Friend
Having friends does not necessarily mean that you are guaranteed to have happy days all the time. There are times when you will get in conflicts and fights with your friends and sometimes, it may lead to you not talking to each other for days, weeks, or even years!
However, you should keep in mind that fights and misunderstandings are part of a healthy friendship. There may be times when you have to swallow your pride for the sake of your friendship, but don’t worry, the sacrifices that you make (such as trampling on your pride) will surely be worth it.
Remember that honesty and loyalty is one of the greatest ingredients to a great friendship. As much as possible, never keep secrets from each other, and always spare even just a bit of your time for each other so that your friendship won’t wither and die.
