Power of your mind and a method to achieve all your goals
Very few people are aware about the power of their own minds and how much can they achieve with it. God has given us the greatest gift and an amazingly powerful tool in form of our mind. Studies show that most people use only 5-6 % of their mind potential, those who use 15-20 % become famous and world bows their head for the people who uses and have used 50-60 % of their mind potential. Such is the power of our mind.
We read many articles about goal setting and achieving our goals but most people fail miserably in achieving their goals despite of reading all those motivation books and attending seminars. What is the reason?
In order to know the reason it is very important to understand the working of our own mind.
The mind has two parts: the conscious and the subconscious.
The conscious mind is the rational, logical, analytical, thinking part of the mind. The conscious mind is constantly taking in information from outside, and then it reasons, analyzes and decides whether the input is true or false. The subconscious mind stores all this information that our conscious mind gives in the memory and is responsible for automatic behavior (habits), reflexes and autonomic functions of the body such as digestion, breathing and circulation.
Most important thing to understand here is that unlike the conscious mind, the subconscious mind does not “think.” You can say it works like a computer. Whatever instructions we give to it, it assumes it to be true. It doesn’t matter whether the information is actually true or false.
We generally believes that we are in control of our own behavior, but its not our conscious mind but subconscious mind which really controls how we acts. It controls your behavior. If you have been trying to achieve something but doesn’t seems to achieve that, its probably because your are giving negative messages and thoughts to your subconscious mind unknowingly.
Did you ever wonder why you have lapses and breakdowns in “willpower?”
The reason is we don’t really believe in our thoughts.
“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve. “
Dr. Napoleon Hill
Yes that’s true. We generally don’t believe own believes. Next time you setup a goal do the following.
1) Write down your goals clearly on a piece of paper.
2) Divide your goals into short term goals and long term goals (1 month to 3 month –short term and 6 month to 1 year –long term).
3) Break down your short term goal further to weekly goals.
4) Have a mechanism to measure your success and feel happy every time you achieve a portion of your goal.
5) Repeat your goal to yourself everyday in the morning, afternoon and before going to bed and feel how close you are to your goal. Say to yourself that yes I am achieving this goal everyday and I am already on the way of making this true.
Just feed your mind with all the positive energy and see how easy it will become to achieve your goals. BEST OF LUCK...
